Il Rodecaster Pro è la soluzione unica di Rode interamente dedicata ai podcast. Questo studio di produzione dal nome estremamente appropriato è in grado di registrare contemporaneamente fino a quattro segnali di microfono, archiviando i file su una scheda SD o direttamente su un compuuter. Il Rodecaster è dotato di funzioni specifiche, come ad esempio un canale aggiuntivo progettato per telefoni mobili (che può essere utilizzato sia per gestire telefonate che per riprodurre musica), otto pad per far partire effetti sonori o campioni, e quattro uscite per cuffie con controlli individuali per il volume. In questo modo, basta collegare il microfono e si è pronti all'azione.
Sotto la scocca, il Rodecaster Pro è dotato di quattro preamplificatori microfonici di alta qualità, proprio come ci si aspetta da un prodotto Rode. Ogni canale fornisce alimentazione phantom individualmente ed è dotato di una gamma di opzioni utili per l'elaborazione del segnale. Fra le altre, queste includono un compressore, un de-esser, un noise gate e una funzione di ducking, che nel complesso permettono di mantenere il segnale in ingresso sotto controllo in qualunque situazione. Inoltre, gli effetti integrati APHEX garantiscono un inconfondibile effetto radio al suono. Il Rodecaster può essere collegato a un telefono mobile, permettendo così di condurre interviste telefoniche. E questa non è l'unica funzionalità utile: il dispositivo mobile, infatti, può essere collegato usando un cavo TRRS o tramite Bluetooth. Entrambi questi ingressi sono controllabili da fader distinti, presenti sull'interfaccia di controllo del Rodecaster.
È chiaro a quali utenti sia dedicato il Rodecaster: questa infatti è una soluzione che calza a pennello ai creatori di podcast. Il Rodecaster è un vero affare, soprattutto per registrare più persone alla volta. Inoltre, funzioni come il ritorno audio (mix-minus) integrato, il ducking e il muto automatico per gli altoparlanti si trovano in genere solo su console radiofoniche professionali dal prezzo ben più alto, rendendo il Rodecaster adatto anche alla produzione di interviste e servizi radiofonici. Gli otto pad, che possono innescare jingle e suoni assegnati in precedenza, completano il pacchetto. È possibile operare il Rodecaster tramite un moderno schermo touch ad alta risoluzione, creando un flusso di lavoro estremamente intuitivo.
