The Best Kit I've Played!

The Tama Walnut/Birch Starclassic is a beautiful kit. I opted for the molten brown burst which reminds me of African Giraffes and smooth creme coffee up close, superb, it's immaculate!
Going from all maple drums these are a real departure for me, they have much more projection and bite than I am used to, but followed by warmth and depth, they really do sound fantastic. Even more impressive is how they feel to play. I have tuned the toms low and they are rich and deep without feeling flabby to play, and I currently have them tuned higher where you get excellent response and feel from this kit.
The hardware is also second to none at this price range.
All in all I am delighted with my purchase and am more impressed with it than I even thought I would be!

Excellent construction and sound

Drums are flawless. Gorgeous finish. Easy to setup with memory for tom positions. But most important, the sound is amazing. Came with great Evans heads. it's really a pro drum set. If you can't get a great sound out if this kit, it's definitely not the kit.

Ich hatte mir vor ca. 20 Jahren mein erstes Tama Starclassic Birch gekauft. Zwischendurch dann noch ein Sonor Force 3005 mit Ahornkesseln. Jetzt hab ich soundmäsig was in der Mitte gesucht. Etwas mehr Tiefgang als die reinen Birkekessel und etwas mehr Attack als die Ahorn. Die Jungs in der Drumabteilung haben mich sehr gut beraten und ich hatte mir vorher bereits in diversen Videos/Reviews/Soundbeispielen ein Bild gemacht.
Vor Ort habe ich das Schlagzeug gegen alle möglichen anderen Sets getestet. Und ich muss sagen alleine vom Sound hat mir dieses am besten gefallen.
Zuhause ausgepackt hab ich erstmal die beigelegten Felle aufgezogen und relativ lieblos nur grob in Richtung gestimmt. Und bähm, schon gleich kommt ohne viel Aufwand ein Brett von Sound rüber. Passt. Nach dem Feintuning noch besser. Schöner Anschlag, fette tTefen uns klare Mitten. Ich bin echt begeistert für das Geld. Ich hab mir noch ein 8"Tom dazu bestellt, dann bin ich sorgenfrei.
Einzig die neuen Tomhalterungen und Standtomfüße sind etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, da diese etwas wackelig anmuten, die Funktion ist top aber wie gesagt einfach etwas komisch vom feeling her.
Ich werd bei Gelegenheit mal andere Felle draufziehen und schaun was dann passiert.
Insgesamt ein Traum von einem Schlagzeug.
Update.
Ich hab jetzt UV2 als Schlafelle und G1 als Resos drauf, bisschen Gelpads und die Toms klingen noch besser, etwas weicher und runder mit noch mehr fatness.
Als Snare die SLP G Maple 14x6 mit HD dry.
Ich würde alles wieder genau so machen.
