As a fan of groove box type gear this fits perfectly in my set up. The sound palette is excellent sitting nicely between the gritty harshness of an Arturia mini freak and the lush sounds you would expect from Roland synths. For non synth programmers like me it is an easy interface. Having a screen makes it easier to understand what you are doing and helps with the work flow. Editing sequences is easy with grid system, though the screen size makes this hard on the eyes. The looper is really the cherry on the cake with the ability to overdub. The synth is sturdy with a solid metal enclosure and the velocity sensitive keys although plastic work very well and for non keyboard players like myself I find it easier to create melodies. The drum machine is fine but there are limited kits and they have to be in .stk format (Sampl Trek) . In practice I think the drum machine is best used to lay down a basic pattern on a looper track and focus on the synth lines you can create on the other looper tracks. On a side note I contacted Sonicware with a question about importing sounds and they replied next day. I feel they are a company that cares about its customers and I have already purchased a new piece of gear from them based on my experience.
