Bought this bass mainly for home recording. Having played it for few months, I've noticed some negatives:
-volume and tone pots work do work, but they're really either on or off, not really good for fine blending
-needs adjustments out of the box, this should be a given due the pricepoint, action was really high, and intonation was way off
-pickups don't go low enough into the body, sometimes resulting in some crackling when recording
Other than those things, it's pretty solid. Sounds quite good when you dial your sounds in properly. The fifth string gives you a nice deep growl when adding slight dirt to the sound. It's priced really well, and there's no excuse not to buy it if you're like me and want to upgrade your home recording sound within a budget. If you need a five-string on a budget, this is what you should get. Obviously you get what you pay for, but all in all this is a pretty decent bass.
