This is one of the coolest things I ever bought. (I'm easy pleased...LOL!) But seriously. I bought these because I was fed up with all the screwing on & off of mics in the studio & at gigs. I thought they would speed up the process, boy was I right.
First, it comes in 2 parts. The quality is extremely rugged and solid and the matt-black finish will fit with any stand. First part has a 3/8 internal thread and fits on the end of the mic stand. It has a retractable spring-loaded part in the middle. This is the locking mechanism.
The second part, a nipple (LOL! Yep I said nipple), Has a 3/8 external thread and fits into the socket on the microphone clip. Once both are fitted, all you do is retract the spring part on the stand, place the mic clip against it and release. You may need to twist ever so slightly to get it to lock into place. You can buy this item on its own (MS QC 1 TB) so you can fit one to every mic clip you have. Unfortunately you cannot buy the main chassis on it's own. It would be helpful if you could.
This thing is easy as hell to use. I laughed when I opened the box, because there is an instruction leaflet. If you need to read this, you should probably be considering another career. Time will only tell if the spring lock mechanism stands up to rigorous use & abuse. But I don't care. I'm gonna buy another 4 or 5 of these & keep a couple in the drawer.
They are fantastic value at the price & the nipples are cheap as chips!
