Natural vocal harmonies in a stompbox

The TC-Helicon VoiceTone H1 is a compact and powerful vocal harmony stompbox that adds rich, varied, and realistic-sounding backing voices to the lead vocal with minimal effort. Designed for singers, solo performers, and acoustic musicians, it generates up to two harmony voices centred on the input, delivering smooth, natural-sounding harmonies that convincingly enhance vocal performances. The pedal offers multiple styles of harmony, allowing users to select intervals above or below the lead. Guitarists can take advantage of automatic key detection, which follows the instrument and generates harmonies in real-time, while instrument-free singers can set the key manually. Housed in a rugged metal chassis, the VoiceTone H1 is built for both intensive stage and studio use, providing a great performance in any setting.

TC-Helicon VoiceTone H1 Vocal Processor Pedal

Flexible harmony creation

With just three rotary controls and a footswitch, the TC-Helicon VoiceTone H1 is designed for simplicity and efficiency. The Key knob sets the central key for harmonisation when no instrument is connected, while the Voice knob determines whether the harmonies are above or below the lead vocal, or a combination of both. The Mix knob blends the harmonised signal with the dry vocal, allowing precise balance between the "backing" and lead vocals. The pedal's high-resolution LED provides clear visual feedback on activity status. Additionally, a ground lift switch on the side helps eliminate unwanted hum in certain setups. The footswitch engages or bypasses the harmonies instantly, ensuring seamless transitions during performances.

XLR connections on the TC-Helicon VoiceTone H1 vocal processor pedal

Designed for live performance

Built for stage use, the VoiceTone H1 features balanced XLR input and output connectors to easily integrate into any setup. The onboard 24V phantom power supports dynamic and live condenser microphones, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of vocal mics (certain studio condenser microphones, however, require more power and will not function with 24V, so user discretion is advised). Singers using the TC-Helicon MP-75 or Sennheiser e835 FX microphones can control the pedal remotely using the built-in Mic Control function, allowing hands-free operation. The compact, pedalboard-friendly design makes the VoiceTone H1 ideal for solo performers looking to add professional-grade harmonies to their set without requiring external processing or a second vocalist.

About TC Helicon

TC-Helicon was founded in 2000 as a subsidiary of TC Electronic in cooperation with IVL Technologies Ltd. and has since specialised in voice recording technology. TC-Helicon focuses primarily on portable audio interfaces. A link in the daisy-chain

The VoiceTone H1 can be used as a standalone pedal or daisy-chained with other TC-Helicon VoiceTone effects to create a customised vocal processing chain. The XLR output connects directly to a mixing console, PA system, or audio interface, providing a clean and clear signal at all times. The pedal's USB port allows firmware updates, keeping it up to date with the latest features and improvements. Compact yet powerful, the VoiceTone H1 is an essential tool for vocalists seeking rich, natural harmonies with intuitive control and professional-grade sound.

Just Ok

These pedals do what they say but unless you’re playing a guitar for the pedal to identify your key do not expect to just leave them on the floor and be able to press the switch on and off because they do need a key change in between every song so it kind of defeats the purpose having to keep going back to it with your hands. You can set the pedal on its chromatic setting to identify every note but then you won’t get the hard tune effect.

The pedal also has a gain dial on the side which is hand if you’ve got really gain hungry mics but turn the gain on the pedal up even halfway and your mic has waaaay too much gain. Much more than your mixing console would provide which is completely un-necessary and if you set the gain too low on the pedal you get weird distortion, noise and loss of quality.

Expand Your Vocal Horizons.

Great vocal; harmonizer ..simple to use and has a good range of harmonies/effects.
I only received it today & have already revamped one of my songs using this pedal via my DAW on PC.
Couldn't be happier as product exceeded my expectations.
You might want to google Youtube for a short demo of how the pedal works as it doesn't come with an instruction manual.
I was using mine effectively within 5 minutes so don't let that put you off. Well worth the money *****
Big thanks to Thomann for such a quick delivery to the UK. and for including power supply & Euro to UK adaptor.

Superb.

A magnificent little pedal, perfect for me.
I've tried many harmony gadgets, Most of them just an echoey mush of irritating noise, with unusable added effects,
Then the H1 from year 2011, simply, nicely, just a harmony voice or 2 with an on/off foot switch, plus a couple of easy controlls.
No need to select a key for my harmonys, the guitar plugged "through" the H1 pedal controlls the harmony key in an automatically and perfectly easy usable way..
No weaknesses, no problems at all for me.
I have problems with human harmony singers, they tend to harmonise when not needed, or not sing when needed, but the H1 only sings when the foot switch button is pressed, when I press it.
There is a mic volume control which must be adjusted to light the green signal Led for the harmonys to operate correctly, but very simple to understand.
I'd like the phantom power to be 48/52 volts, as condenser Mics sound way better at 48/52 volts, Tha H1's phantom voltage is 24, works OK, but..
The latest TC helicon version of this pedal has a strange problem and is full of fx that my mixer already is gifted with.
Over all, a superb machine, perfect for me in every way, works perfect with my older sound equip.
A very good alternative to this H1 pedal is the Boss acoustic singer pro/live, from 2022, with very good harmonies built into them.
Thomann gives us performers all this equip at very good prices. Nice 👍

Very good for the price

I am a keyboard player/vocalist and I wanted to experiment with harmonies as I had listened to other musicians and wanted to try it. As an entry level unit this is great. Not expensive but not a huge feature set either. You get what you pay for and this is great value for money.
