This bass is very fun to play on, the stock strings sound pretty cool. It's good, but don't let the image fool you it's much more beautiful when you're holding it.

Holy sh*t!!

I didnt have the biggest expectations when I ordered this bass, I simply ordered it because I had money to spare and always wanted a Jackson Concert bass. When it arrived, it blew my mind. Had to tweak the action a little, otherwise it was flawless right out of the box, I simply have never owned a bass of this kind of quality for such a low price. The machine heads are rock solid and the bridge has become a favorite of mine. The neck is straight and just feels incredibly sturdy. Now, the pickups, while still perfectly fine for the price, lacks a little something in my personal opinion... More punch, more volume, just more something. I primarily play metal and punk, and I like lots of growl and clank. So this is something I will probably upgrade to EMG 35HZ in the future, a modification I have done to several instruments. The two volume knobs and tone knob does not offer a very wide variety of tones, if thats what you are looking for, but personally I just rewire both pickups to a single master volume, no tone, so for me this is not an issue. I also swap the plastic nut with a brass nut. I was sceptical to the machine heads at first too, but as I wrote, they are rock solid so far!

All in all, I strongly recommend this instrument for any player of any rank, beginner or professional, this is a ton of bass for the buck and Im sure it can serve well in other genres than metal and punk too. I will most likely buy another one in black in the future, as a backup, thats how much i fell for this instrument.
