Gives a great, trashy attack and fairly short sustain. Definitely prefer these type of cheap chinas to the cheaper big brands, who tend to have cheap chinas that just sound like terrible crashes. These things have a bite to them and cut through nicely in louder music. The build quality is an issue in a couple of ways though. First, no two china is alike and you will be very lucky to get two of these that sound identical. General characteristics are the same, but a surprising amount of variance nevertheless. Some have more sustain, the pitch is different from cymbal to cymbal and there are slight differences in the levels of volume. The other issue with build quality is that these things are too easy to break. They cost next to nothing compared to most cymbals, so consider if you want to replace one of these on pretty much a yearly basis or spend more and get something that will be more likely to last at least a few years.
These are not for everybody, but if you want a trashy, bitey, nasty china effect on a budget, this is a good choice.
