I use these on my drumset on which I play rock, metal, punk, anything.
I prefer nylon tips just because the sound it makes on cymbals is brighter and more colourful. Wooden tip leaves the sound a bit dim and muffled.
The bounce is very good, so it's definitely not a limitation for rudiment training. Also, the stick is long enough (unlike 7A(N)).
And, most importantly the tip doesn't break in use. No splitting whatsoever -- ever.
If something breaks, it's the shaft like in any other stick.
I've been using this model for 6 years now and I have no intention's to switch it.
I have nothing bad to say about this model. Give it a try!
