the t.bone EM 700

These pencil mics are unbelievably good sounding for this price point. They weigh up against oktavas easily, even though they have slightly different character to them (and are a bit different in size). If you have any spare cash and would need some condensers e.g. for getting more color on your cab, micing your hi hat, or room micing, i seriously recommend these. I doubt they can withstand too much tossing around at this price point, so even though they come in a plastic foamed case, i wouldn't really want to move them around too much. Currently, i have it set as hi hat mic, and probably won't move it from its shock mount until i for some reason change it with some other mic. The only thing which was a bit flimsy was the shock mount, very plasticy and cheap and soft tightening mechanism, but once again once i have it set up i probably wont move it again. If you do need to move this mic around, id suggest getting another better quality shock mount.
