255€ per speaker Is what I paid for 2 of these and its main purpose was to replace our broken passive PA speakers at band practice. It's a small room. Drums, guitar, bass and keyboards
This gets really loud, completely drowning out our drummer blasting as loud as he can, to the point ear protection doesn't make it not painful, that loud.
The sound quality is pretty good, far better than I expected a cheapo PA speaker to be, you can get plenty of bass (though it does cut out at sub frequencies 50Hz, which is a problem for some EDM music), we are planning on eventually adding some subs to help these out, but even these on their own are 100% enough to do a rock/metal gig for a packed club/bar, and outside for a decent sized group 100-150 people at least. Highs ain't bad either, we keep the EQ settings at the back, at noon and it can be pretty clear and "breathy" just from that.
Seriously though, in my opinion nobody needs 20kHz blasting at 100dB, that 18kHz limit was pretty high and painful enough and double so for young ears that can actually hear that high clearly.
We've also used these to just blast music, they're pretty good for that too, but like I said you'd probably want to add a sub to the mix if you want to play a lot of electronic music.
As expected these are fairly heavy, and not the easiest to carry, but if you're used to carrying music equipment around, this ain't nothing new.
They are plastic and so durability is a big question mark, we tend to be pretty nice to our gear, so we haven't been able to test that out too much.
I like the simplicity of the design and features, makes it very easy to add to any setup I can think of using this in. I wish the PA would be more of a square box, since it's easier to stack and transport and to store stuff on, but that's not a big deal.
Oh and we've been using these on the ground, not on any stand or installation, so that does affect the sound negatively, but even then it's been great.
Conclusion: for the price these are great active PA speakers, probably even overkill for what we use it for mostly, but will for sure work as your main PA system on small to medium gigs and probably a bit overkill for band practice, but they do work for that as well.
