A stereo wireless monitoring system for this price operating at 5.8 GHz? I have been using a wired system so far, with the headphone cable attached to my guitar cable which makes it a bit stiff and tends to get tangled to pedals etc, so I had to give this a try.
First impressions were that both the transmitter and the receiver are surprisingly compact, which is nice. The system is very simple to setup and use, but it comes with a minor drawback; there is not much to adjust and you have to rely on the automation to select the frequency and so on. The case that acts as a charger and a powerbank is a great feature - you can recharge the units multiple times with the powerbank. Also in my experience, the battery life is actually longer than promised - although this might vary depending on use.
So there are great features especially for the price point. But then the biggest drawback: sound quality. There is a very noticeable distortion in the signal compared to a wired system, especially at lower sound density and volume. Practically this means that the less instruments you have going on the more noticeable the distortion is. It doesn't make the product unusable in my opinion, but it is definitely a major con for it. I could not recommend this system for someone who does a lot of performing with maybe just vocals and acoustic guitar - the sound quality is just bluntly put bad in these situations. But if your main deal is for example a loud rock band, then I don't think this will bother you too much. I have also experienced a couple signal cutoffs, but it has returned after couple seconds. Don't know why this has happened.
So all in all a good product for the price, but you do get what you pay for. If the issue with the sound quality wouldn't be that noticeable I would give it a 4/5 (or even a 5/5 if I take into account the price point this is at). But because I do both loud rock and softer acoustic sections and the issue is therefore prominent in my use, I can only give it a 3/5 at best.
