The one thing I wasn't sure was if the material surrounding the padding is actual leather or just leather imitation. This one is fully leather in all of the pieces. Which is nice because a sweaty shirt and a plastic surface is not comfortable, had this experience with one Minotaur wide "leather" strap.
This strap is stitched together from 3 layers, soft thinner leather on top all around, grips your shoulder only slightly. The middle layer seems to give the construction a bit of stiffness, so the button hole area is flexible but firm enough. The soft top leather seems nice, doesn't have a thick paint layer which would start to peel off later on.
All in all, it is sort of a budget construction compared to a thicker one layer leather strap. Single stitching around the edges, seems sturdy, but after it wears out or rips, layers will start to separate. Atleast there is also separate stitching around the button holes to keep it together a bit longer.
The button hole area is a bit thick to thread in a Schaller type strap lock. The end where the top strap button goes is almost 6 mm thick. I used the Harley Benton cheapo locks (239051) which have the threaded stem 9 mm in length, had to replace the default thick washer with a thinner one and could then barely thread in the nut. I'd suggest to use a lock with a longer threaded stem with this strap.
