Pretty good build but lacks in locking mechanisms
Bought a pair of these microphone stands for my Genelec 8020 monitors. Of course this not what these stands are intended for but with a better locking mechanism they could have been much better suited for many other applications too. The extendable beam has a plastic locking mechanism that feels a bit flimsy but will be adequate for keeping microphones at their intended height. Anything heavier and you might end up with the lock not holding and the beam shortening on it's own. As the Genelec speakers are quite heavy the beams are barely keeping their right height but as they are not intended for that heavy load I would not give these stand too much hate for it.
What I liked in this stand:
- Good looking stand with solid black paint finish
- Small and easy to fold smaller for transport
- Easy to use
What I didn't like in this stand:
- Could have been more sturdy with small modifications
- The plastic locking mechanism in the beam is too weak for the overall pretty solid stand
In conclusion:
If you just need a solid microphone stand and you are not loading the stand with too much weight this is a good product.
