I am very happy with this new mouthpiece as a next step to a modern punchy sound after more than a year on Otto Link ToneEdge 5* on YAS280. I use it for progressing on my learning path - started learning sax about 20 months ago.
It gives me new edge on active articulation and projection. The dynamic range has notably increased although controlling pianissimo is more difficult than Otto - it should come after some time getting used to it.
The sound is a big step brighter but not excessively - a very good balance for me and for all modern style pieces. Got to like the sound and feel very quickly. Still experimenting with reeds but for now found very good combination with Forestone Black Bamboo M.
Pros:
- Bright, rich, clean and punchy sound
- Easy blowing
- Nice lows
- Easy for learning altissimo
- Like the Rovner style ligature
Cons:
- Pricey
- Stock cushion on top of black logo looks cool but I want to save it for now and I need to trim top additional cushion to avoid air leak when two cushions are used. Will see later what works best
