I am a right-handed electric guitarist, and I mainly practice sitting down in a classical position where my left foot is placed on an elevated foot rest, and my guitat (a superstrat) rests on top of my left thigh. I have noticed that, occasionally, the blood circulation in my left leg is prohibited by the practice posture to the degree that I occasionally feel numbness after a long static practice session. Also, I occasionally have stiffness in my lower back.
After watching the YouTube videos of a famous German shred guitarist, I was tempted to try a guitar leg support in an attempt to create an alternative practice posture for myself. The Harley Benton Classic Leg Support was inexpensive and it seemed to have all requirements I needed - so I ordered it.
The product has been designed for classical guitarists but it functions very well also in the use of electric guitarists (provided that the body shape of the electric guitar is conventional). I am able to practice sitting down in the classical position with both of my legs firmly on the same level on the ground. I can easily find a position where the guitar stays in place, balanced, in a comfortable position. On the concave surface facing my leg, the product has a high-friction ribbon which ensures that the product stays in place and will not slip.
I am super-happy with my purchase. I have now two classical practice postures to choose from. I frequently switch between the two to ensure proper blood flow in my legs. I can warmly recommend the product also to all electric guitarists. Remember to take care of ergonomics and switch practice positions frequently!
