I really like this guitar, and it is great value. I've been playing 40 years, and owned many Les Pauls, inc Custom Shop models. I am wiser now, and buy based on bang for buck, rather than headstock name and stickers. I play 3-4 times per month in a classic blues-rock band covering Clapton, Floyd, Bowie, Snow Patrol, etc. I love the feel of the neck - it is BIG! The P90s sound good (but not exceptional) and the general fit and finish is very good. I have no hesitation in recommending this guitar to anyone - first guitar, back up guitar, main guitar, upgrading platform - no problem. Blues, punk jazz, classic rock all handled well.

As I prefer single coils and have single coils guitars only, I wanted something "harder" but not to spend to much money. After many videos and reviews on Youtube, I decided to buy guitar with P90s. After few days of playing on this guitar, I am asking myself why more peple doesn't use P90s. It sounds like a dream, it has great clarity and dynamics, like regular single coils but with much more bite. Great update to my single coil guitars collecction.
Guitar is well made and it came well packed. Only easy setup I needed to do is to set string action (it was to high).
All in all, this Epi is real deal, it is joy to play on it, it looks and sounds great (especially with overdrive) and the price is realy affordable. Ony thing to consider is it's chunky neck, like all 50s guitars, which I like but it is not for everione.

As good as Gibson

You cannot go wrong with this guitar. Awesome finish, better than the Gibson TV Yellow I bought adn sent back to Gibson. I confess that the P90 from Gibson sounds to have more clarity, bit less bright for my taste. You can search as much as you want and especificly at this model, Epi x Gibson, all reviews say the same. With an Epi like this, doesnt make sense getting a Gibson, at least for this model and I am sure for others as well. And buying from Thoman make all even better.
