Hi,
Can't say enough about this amazing Column Array System, WOW!
Beautifully made, solid, compact, fab sound and is absolutely perfect for small venues and your living room.
I lie on the settee playing youtube clips through it via Bluetooth, it's like sitting in front of a live band.
Did a lot of up front evaluations, googled articles, read reviews and watched youtube clips and comparisons with decent headphones on.
Then did 2 live tests straight out of the box (at another fab shop in Guildford) comparing the EV30M and the Stagepas 1K MK2.
I dismissed the Bose early on as find their sound manipulated, artificial and sickly sweet. Came across a saying which felt summed it up; 'no highs, no lows, it must be a Bose', so shortlisted those two.
I eventually chose the Yamaha, the sound was very close to the EV but I think it just pipped it, plus the fab build quality, research resources and the reputation of Yamaha goes without saying.
I will make one important point, as with all speakers, they need running in to get to their full potential. I found that straight out of the box was one thing but after each session it got better and better and finally after 3 months, OMG!
Also, due to having tiled floors which made it boom a bit, I put one of those ethnic mats folded over underneath and that took it to another level, as presumably it would with the EV.
The controls are spot on, what more could you want (am not using the app) although it is a tad heavy, but I'm getting on a bit so just bought the trolley which is also beautifully put together.
I can lift it on and off the trolley ok but wouldn't like to carry it up and down stairs and out to the car etc. BTW, it doesn't sound as good left on the trolley.
The free carry case is quality with very ample storage pockets and the system is so simple and quick to set up and take down, from the trolley to the trolley.
The carry case locks on to the trolley which also has handles on the underside so you can lift it all with both hands.
It really is a quality piece of kit and is giving me a lot of pleasure....
Talking of getting on a bit, I also just bought a Yamaha Drum Stool (the 4 legged one) again total quality, adjustability and ultimate comfort while playing the guitar, just saying : )
