thomann classic case

I noticed 3 things about this case immediately
1. There is a strong chemical smell that is quite unpleasant. After a few days your guitar smells of this too. It does diminish after a few months.
2. The case is very large! However, the interior fits my classical well (Jose Ramirez studio model) and has generous foam padding, and a fur finish. The interior compartment is a good size and easily accommodates spare string sets, tuner, string winder etc.
3. The top flexes if you push it and there is a slight twist in the lid so that you have to slightly push down the lid to close the latch at the headstock end. It's not serious but it doesn't add to a feel of quality.
It's cheaper than other flightcases but doesn't have the same quality build and feeling of robustness. The flexing of the top should be improved and the latches feel a little flimsy. It does what it should and will protect the guitar from knocks and bumps. Just dont stand on the case!

The ones from Thomann are larger then some other stores. Before this I bought a second hand one, and was short for two of my three classical guitars. This time I got smarter and measured the guitars, and the cases! So I bought two of this, and my guitars fit really well.
Actually they are more attractive in real life: They got some kind of discrete pattern that looks really good. They did had some minor white stuff glued on the inside, but with scissors, in seconds they got perfect. The smell of glue, from the interior was really strong, but after 3 days with them open, just smell like new. They close well. The finish is good. And u can put them vertically! This was major for me, becouse all my guitar cases are keeped vertically. The ABS ones are the best for cleaning and durabiliity, also they r discrete. God cases for the price.

Cost-effective case

Once stock was available, this case arrived with me in the UK very quickly. My Fender CN240-SCE fits it well and the quality of materials and construction is more than adequate for amateur use. I'm not certain that it would withstand constant professional traveling with the treatment that usually involves, mainly because of the catches - which are not the strongest on the market. However, it is very much cheaper than the alternatives available for classical thinlines of similar size and so provides excellent value. If you're not 'on the road' continuously, I can confidently recommend this case.
