I was looking for a cheap trumpet to replace my broken Yamaha as I was on a budget and want to start practicing again. I thought I had to get one of the factory produced 100 pound trumpets from Amazon. Then somebody recommended Thomann to me and I fortunately found this one!
Now I'm not an expert, I have played the trumpet for about six or seven years in school orchestra and want to now get back to practicing a bit more seriously. Despite not being an expert I can tell this instrument seems to have a good sound and good quality, it seems well manufactured and has a beautiful warm and clear sound. The Yamaha has a slightly brighter sound compared to it but personally I think I prefer a more mellow sound so I'm very happy with this.
The valves work smoothly as well, which was one of the most important things for me.
It comes with a nice case, a cloth, Thomann valve oil and mouthpiece of course.
The only downside (which is not Thomann's fault I guess) is that I had to pay 50 pound taxes on it, which I only found out after the trumpet was already dispatched. That came as a bit of a shock but I could probably have expected that as I live in the UK and it is different now with Brexit. So if you are from the UK bear that in mind.
Overall I'm really pleased with the trumpet and glad I didn't have to spend a lot on a more expensive trumpet.

I purchased this after researching a wide range of similar instruments. My research / gamble paid off and resulted in a surprisingly well made and well finished instrument for the money.
Not only does it look good but it plays well throughout the registers - the valves are smooth and very responsive. The mouthpiece needs changing and the case just about ok but these are small matters compared to the overall price package.
I have a Yamaha Neo cornet which cost over £2000 more than the TR 500 but I'm still very pleased with the TR 500 - an absolute bargain. Well done Thomann.

I wanted a good trumpet in the same finish as my Thomann Raw Jazz Flugel. I asked Thomann if they would consider sending me the TR 500 L in Raw Brass and Thomann's Fraser Chisholm got back to me saying that Thomann could send out the TR 500 L to me, unvarnished to meet my request. The trumpet in Raw Brass looks great and plays beautifully, with a nice rich dark rich tone. I would thoroughly recommend this trumpet for both Jazz and Classical styles of playing. A great instrument at a very competitive price. Thanks to Thomann for sending me the trumpet in Raw Brass also.

I can't compare to any other trumpet as this is the only I've played. I am very happy with it though and getting a lot of enjoyment from it. It feels solid enough and I'm able to get some good sounds from it, technique permitting of course.
