I bought a Boss FS-5 switch years and years ago, and its still going strong! However I needed the same type of switch for switching the FX on the PA on and off, but this time with a indicator light to show if its on! I always look at the Thomann web first, as its so easy to find products quickly, and its the cheapest.
There are hundreds to choose from, but when I saw the Boss I was over the moon, knowing that it was a strong steel case and well built. The red light indicator is bright enough to see when on stage in the dark, but not to bright. There's a small switch at the front to change the switching phase around. Having the light on when the FX is on works better for me. Two batteries inside with easy access, and already in place. These switches are really good and at a fair price, also I know they'll last for years. 10 out of 10!

If this isn't a classic, it should be. Bought one to use with one that I've had for years. They slide together perfectly, do the job very well.
I'm an organ player and use the Boss for rotary control. That means it receives some heavy stomping at times, but it just works... and works... and works.
The battery is for the diode only, the pedal works fine without it, should it ever run out (it hasn't for two years). And switching polarity is a breeze.
Nice touch that the diode only lights up if a plug is inserted, that way you don't have to worry about the battery draining inadvertently during transport
