    A pleasure to work with!

Just cut, pull back the cloth, solder and you’re done! I’ve never done guitar electronics before, but these cables definitely made it easy!

Expensive till you realize it isn't

Seems like a lot of money for wire until you realize that you're buying 7,62 metres (strange number but it works out as 25 feet exactly). This is probably more wire than you ever imagined being in your life - I'm guessing you could completely rewire >5 guitars with this amount. Or share it with friends and provide the wire for a guitar re-wire party.

The wire itself is great quality, and not just for vintage-authentic wiring. I agree with others that the cloth outer wants to spring back making soldering harder. I just push the cloth back, put a 90 degree bend in the wire end to stop it jumping back. Solder, then straighten the wire and watch the cloth spring back to partially cover my solder joint. No worries there. I use this wire on guitar installations but also to wire and re-wire some guitar pedals.

Well recommended. The only improvement I could think of would be to have 2 x 12.5feet lengths available together in both black and white instead instead of this monochromatic deal.

The wire solders easily - stays put (i.e. retains it's shape to be where you want it. Having cloth insulation has some advantage in audio applications over say, PVC. But I'll be the first to say that you'd be hard pushed to hear them.

Works fine but the cloth isn't as easy to push back as other brands.
    TrEr 08.06.2021
I got this wire because I find cloth covered wire so easy to work with. The problem is, the cloth on THIS particular wire wasn't easy to work with at all. The cloth was hard to push back, it didn't STAY back so it often got in the way of my soldering. I really struggled with it. In fact, I found it necessaryto use a wire stripper which kinda takes away the main advantage of using cloth covered wire.

The strange thing is that I'm pretty sure I've used the same brand in the past with excellent results. A bad batch perhaps? Different supplier? I'm sure Allparts source their parts from lots of different places.

Still, unless you need cloth covered wire for something to be vintage authentic I would rather recommend getting a cheaper, regular type of wire (or at least look for a different brand of cloth covered wire).

It's ok when used with a wire stripper but that's not what I wanted when buying a cloth covered wire.

    Not recommended.

    Good wire
    Hammer2021 12.09.2021
Used on a strat build project. The wire has a quality feel and the cloth cover gives it a nice vintage vibe. It's worked perfectly in the guitar, so does the job its intended for. Very happy with the purchase.
