I bought the tray to use it for a very small looper/sampler. The tray itself does it job, it has a clamp with rubber inside to be clamped on a mic stand, and the clamp seems of decent quality.
By disassembling the piece that inserts into the clamp, it's possible also to force the tray to a certain angle (but only on that side), but you will need a hex key to set the new angle.
The angle is set through a pin that goes in radially spaced holes in the plastic, sadly this system is not very sturdy, it broke right after the first live (two holes are now conjoined as the separation between them broke, so the tray wiggles).
