I bought this Squier Affinity Strat to practice and to upgrade/mod it
later on.
The guitar arrived in two safe boxes from Thomann and in great condition as always.
The overall paint finish is really good as is the neck which is very smooth and comfortable to play. The frets are very well placed and smooth.
The pickups do sound nice, however they could be better sounding if new pots were of better quality. Since this is a guitar to "mod", I will be installing other pickups and guitar parts later on.
At this moment I cannot complain about the original 2-point tremolo system or the tuners, as they are working very good. They also seem to be made of very good metal/nickel parts. No flaws in them and its keeping in tune when using the tremolo bar alot.
One thing that is a must to be changed on these low-priced instruments is the guitar nut saddle (even though this one is very well cut to shape), later it will be swapped for a better Real Bone-nut or a Graph-Tech
Tusq version. I believe everyone could get a better sounding guitar with a better real bone-nut saddle.
Overall, I give this Squier Affinity Stratocaster a score of 8.5 out of 10.
It is worth buying one. Great for beginners as well as pro guitar players.
