Tape Simulation Plugins gibt es von mehreren Plugin Herstellern und mit Ausnahme der sog. "Freebies" bzw. kostenlosen Plugins sind die alle brauchbar. Das Interessante ist das als es diese Plugins vor vielen Jahren noch nicht gab aber diese eigentlich damals wichtiger gewesen wären als heute. Dies aus dem Grund da als von Analog auf Digital umgestellt wurde die Technik der DA-Wandler noch in den Kinderschuhen steckte und damals Digitale Aufnahmen tatächlich im Gegensatz zu heute sehr steril und harsch klangen. Trotzdem sind auch heute Tape Simulationen sehr brauchbar. Es ist allerdings wichtig um den Einfluss dieser Plugins zu hören wirklich gute Monitore zu verwenden. Das UAD Ampex Mastering Tape ist dafür gedacht es im Mixbus oder Mastering zu verwenden und ich finde das es eine wirkliche Bereicherung der Soundmöglichkeiten bietet. Für Einzelspuren ist diese Plugin nach meiner Meinung weniger geeignet. UAD hat es hier geschafft eine wirklich gute Tape Simulation zu erstellen.
