I used it for about a year with my Orange Dark Terror, and worked just fine for all intents and purposes. I was in need of a load box, and silent recording (= out from the Captor into my DAW simulating speaker responser with third party IRs, since the stock ones on the Torpedo are unusable for high gain tones) so that's what I used it for.
Lately though I could not shake the feeling my DT was sounding a bit strange, through it. Even YouTube videos of other players through my TV speakers sounded better than my DT through the Torped and out my Neumann monitors. Long story short since I recently moved and I'm no longer in need of silent recording and bought a 2x12 cab loaded with Celestion V30s and the difference is STELLAR.
Mind you, I was gain staging like you should and using premium well payed York audio IRs. Everything was done by the book but the reality imho is that the Captor simply cannot pull off the real thing.
It still got its uses, but I'm much happier now with a JHS Little Black Amp (69€) in the loop helping with the overall volume and an sm57 in front of the cab.
Also, the unit doesn't come with its own power supply, so if you wanna use the DI out or the internal (again, FIXED) cab simulator you'll have to buy a 9v center negative cable, similar to ones of common Boss pedals, or provide phantom power somehow (most likely your audio interface).
And the fixed impedance. Really? Come on Two notes, what happened?
I remember being very happy with my Engl Fireball head hooked to the Two Notes Torpedo LIVE, back in the days. Seems no longer the case.
Sold it!
