O
Amazing tone, but at a price!
Omer 22.07.2014
I am a jazz bassist, and these strings attracted me for their arco sound. Originally was using Thomastik Spirocores.
For pizzicato they are difficult to play, they vibrate completely differently. Especially difficult for up tempo playing. I had to pluck them daily to learn how they move. Wrapped in -super- smooth steel.
The pitch changes as they vibrate. Which means if you are using a tuner, the pitch will move over time. If you are not okay with this behavior, get steel strings.
The tone is just amazing. I love the attack, and sustain. Nice, fat, and warm sound. Not Ray Brown, but Oscar Pettiford.
