Quiet practicing in an apartment, finally
Dutchy78 23.02.2020
Roland took their sweet time, but they have finally come up with a solution for quiet practicing at home. The KT-9 is truly amazing, the loudest part of my e-drumkit has just become the quietest. The absence of a beater and pad makes all the difference and the hinged mechanism Roland engineered works very nice. The build quality is superb, thick steel plates with an aluminium footboard. On carpeting there is no pedal creep at all!
The only problem I have with this pedal is the lack of an input so you can daisy-chain two pedals. Now you will need a second input with a double bass setup. You could try a cable splitter on a piezo/piezo input if you're module supports it.

Much quiter than a kick-tower
evmbfbzgs 18.03.2022
(I am a beginner level drummer)

I bought a Roland TD-17 and so the the KD-10 kick-tower was included which was way too loud to play in my apartment. Since the KT-9 is still quite noisy, I decided to buy the KT-9.

First things first: Yes, the KT-9 does not feel like a proper kick pedal. BUT now the kick is the most silent part of my drum set and I can play more than before without disturbing my neighbours too much.

All in all, I am still very happy how it feels like to play the KT-9. Sure, it has not a real beater, but it still feels high in quality to play with this "kick" pedal in contrast to other silent (cheaper) kick triggers I have played on.

But for everyone who is interested in a silent, solid, and high quality Kick Trigger Pedal, this seems really reasonable.

Also, since the pedal seems so durable, I can imagine to have this pedal in the future as part of a minimalistic setup when I am e.g. visiting friends and want to play music with them together. The KT-9 is very easy to setup, and as said, seems to have a long lasting building quality.

Great for quiet
Anonymous 16.02.2017
I got this peddle to reduce the sound of my kit going downstairs to the neighbours. This had been a problem with any solution I tried. This peddle is very quiet and the neighbour can hear nothing when I play it.

I've still to get used to the peddle as it feel different from my old version but I think a little practice will sort that.

The most important part for me was reducing the noise to the neighbour so full marks for that plus an extra star for the silence.

Had time to play with it and once I got my brain around the fact that there was no beater hitting a pad it all fell into place. Works great.

Night-time practice in an apartment with neigbours not complaining, what more can you ask for? I changed screwhole for the springs though, resistance was too high otherwise for me.
