Good, but could have been better
eddiehimself 09.11.2018
I think this arm was pretty well put together, and I was satisfied with its adjustability, finding it easy enough to set it up from various stands and mounts. However, one major let down of this cymbal arm is the lack of knurling on the shaft. You will find this on most cymbal boom arms as it helps the stand grip the arm, and you can really tell when it's not there. You are forced to screw it down very tightly in order to stop it from slipping, which is obviously not ideal if you were having to adjust it a lot for example, and even then it had a tendency to slip. It's a really unfortunate oversight on the part of Pearl, which I believe really detracts from what could otherwise have been a great bit of kit.

W
Makes your splashes more comfy

Best price/quality solution for extended stands. Will be perfect for splash cymbals up to 10" (if you fit it near the hi-hat stand). Also can be handled on a drum rack for bigger-diameter cymbals. But you need to keep in mind its short shoulder (approx. 37 cm or 14,5").

The bracket fits in a rare number of tubes and can be fixed on 3,5 cm or 1,2" diameter max (if I measured it right), but it will be on the edge of the thread. So I can't recommend fix it on the high-diameter tube and putting the heavy cymbal on it.

The felts are thick so the cymbal almost does not wobble which is good in some situations. On the other hand, you can always cut felts in a half and make the cymbal free.

Pros:
+ Best price/quality rate in my opinion
+ Fast and easy install when you have a practice
+ Stable and comfy
+ Thick felts and good plastic nut

Cons:
- Can't fit on any diameter tubes
- Shoulder bracing controls the length, rotation, AND angle of the shoulder. I do not consider this a drawback, but for someone, it is important that the angle is controlled by another mount.

Handy for adding cymbals around your kit
James2242 27.06.2014
I bought this to add a splash cymbal to my setup. It's a nice and tidy boom arm. It would be nice if the tilter was toothless but you can't have everything. Good bang for buck option and saves carrying another stand when you're gigging.
