Great lightweight and easy to use.

I bought this to use as a poweramp for my bass rig. I use a Sansamp RBI preamp into the XLS 1002 which when bridged gives 1100W into 4 ohms (more than I'll ever need).

The selecatble dual sensitivity input is a superb inclusion and improvement over predecessors. It allows lower power input sources and preamps to be connected etc.

The overall sound is clean, transparent, powerful and replicates the output of my bass and preamp without colouration.

The built-in crossover is brilliant and very easy for a technophobe like me to program the output frequency range. Choose from high pass, low pass, or select a bandwidth.

The unit is well built, looks superb in my rack unit (the blue LEDs match my Korg rack tuner!).

While this model is perfect for my needs, it is relatively low powered for PA and stereo output applications, but the higher power versions in the DriveCore range have greater power needs well covered.

Great value for money. Highly recommended.

PS
awesome, great preamp for cheap

I use this amp for amplifying my mixing/mastering/producing set-up - MacBook into preamp, into this, into my speakers and sub. I also use it for home listening - DAP or MacBook straight into this, then into my speakers. I also recently used it at a small concert as a PA amp.
This amp has always met my expectations and in some cases exceeded them. To my ears it sounds wonderfully clean and accurate - compared to my old JVC amp which may have more 'warmth' but lacks clarity. It's built very well, the fans are exceptionally quiet, and I personally think it looks very cool. We had it centre piece of the stage and the level leds really added something to the general feeling and ambience of the performance.
I would enjoy a few more in- and outputs but I guess we are dealing with a budget-level piece of construction here, somehow the costs must be kept down. I'm also not 100% certain it's as loud as it should be - could have something to do with my set-up but it lacks the punch of my vintage JVC which has a similar rating.
All in all though, I am very happy with this amp and would recommend it to anyone looking for hi-fi and high-rating amplification on a budget.

This has been around for quite some time, but it still does what it say on the tin. It's a class d amp and great value for money. I'm sorry, but you blind test an A/B amp and a D amp of the same power and you're not going to be able to tell the difference.

I'm using this ( I've got three ) with a surround amp and it's got some power and sounds great. It's good you can turn all the lights off too...

Solid performer

I bought this after being recommended it by a friend who had got one for his studio. I got it to use with my old trusted passive studio monitor speakers as part of an upgrade.

The amp is very quiet with regards to the internal fan noise, in fact it gets drowned out by the quiet PC. However, it really delivers a good amount of power and is very transparent in terms of tone. It does exactly what it should do as you would expect from Crown. The amp is surprisingly light too! It replaced my old amp which was only 1u tall but the old one weighed almost twice as much as this one.
It sits in my studio rack looking very impressive with its light glowing. In fact if the lights were not on you wouldn't notice it.

Great power amp.
