Most durable and very warm coated heads
Anonymous 19.09.2016
I was playing coated Remo heads since I started learning drums. I really liked the warmth that those heads were providing but the quality of the coating.... if you hit anything more than moderate, or if you hit with the tip it's immediately gone... and tuning was not great either. I personally did not like the sound of Evans so I decided to give Aquarian a try.
The sound is very warm (only slightly less warm then Remo) and punchy. Very pleasant sounding and versatile heads.
The durability and look is amazing, hats off. It denies to get damaged even if you try to damage it. The coating simply does not wears out even after months. And the coating stays white throughout this time, it always look like new!
Tuning is also much better and they are cheaper than competitors.

Highly recommended!

Only problem you can face is with drum manufacturers that produce slightly oversized cells like f.e. Gretsch. It might get hard to fit it.

Pros: very nice, warm sound; extreme coating durability; nice tuning; looks like new all the time; cheaper than Remo/Evans
Cons: might be hard to fit in some cells

When you want to try something else than the mainstream brands
Nizaril 14.11.2020
Sounds the same to me as all other "standard" single ply heads on a snaredrum. Do have to admit that I was surprised by the longevity of the coating. It lasted quite a while longer then some other heads I have used in the past. So, yes would buy again.

For a darker sound and indestructible coating, use these!
James4797 28.05.2014
I experimented with all the main manufacturers heads on my snare drum. The coating on an Aquarian head definitely lasts longer then on any other make of drum head. It never seems to wear. The sound characteristics of Aquarian heads, however, are quite dark. I find remo the brightest, Evans in the middle, and Aquarian definitely the darkest of the 3 in sound.

The response of these heads is very good, the quality and coating is excellent, but what I would say is choose your heads according to the sound you want. I tend to want a brighter sound these days, but you can use these on, say, a steel snare drum to make it sound more 'woody', and if I was to use my drum kit for teaching, I would fit it with these heads as they last so well.
