Only for short time

I owned two arms SC-LBBT-TP and both are broken. First one broke after 1 year and second one after 1,5 year. One had broken swing nut that middle screw broke in thread and it fall in two pieces. Second broke in cymbal holder. That is good question how can cymbal from Cu alloy destroy steel shaft that is holding it. No keyhole in cymbal but shaft is broken. Never seen this before. I also have very old stand made by BASIX and still working (11 years). Also stability of cymbals depend how spring under cymbal is turned (not good solution). But i was very satisfied with controling and locking. If you want some arms for not so often playing you can choose this for low price. But i do not recomend for more often using like playing every weekend or training every day.

Pros:
+ good controling and locking systems - everything goes easy

Cons.
- bad quality of used material - only for not often hobby playing
- spring under cymbal - stability of cymbal

TP is the best version of a boom arm

Gibraltar product, so stability has never been an issue. Holds up well on the long run, against heat, cold, dust, etc. The Gibraltar stickers come of every once in a while, and this is annoying to me, but there is no perfect product. The turning point hardware is great, gives you a "levitating" feel for the cymbals. Also this moving base (moves up and down on a spring) helps you to protect your cymbals. Slight problem, the spring-base will not be consistent in every direction, so the angle of the cymbals will change slightly when the cymbal spins around. Still, I've changed every boom arms I have with these. And I have a lot. Is it cheap? No. Worth it? Absolutely.

Boom Arm

Product is very well made. Will see how it holds up over time. The tilt adjuster for the cymbal looks like it could possibly wear over time as it relies on a toothed sprocket, but the tension for this is adjustable.
The fact that the boom arm stores inside the main tube is good, and also means you can use it as a straight stand if needs be.
The swivel quick release mechanism is good but very stiff when closed, so is hard to lock back again, thus making it not such a "quick" release.
Very similar in design to the equivalent Tama product, which I would normally use but the stand I'm using only takes 22mm tubes and the Tama ones are 19mm.
Please so far.
