It's an all plastic construction. I liked the clamp for the ipad as it is firm and holds the ipad (including it's case) firmly as the spring is tight with no fear of damaging the ipad. Now the down side, the stand clamp is chunky and will only attach to an upright mic stand. I spent an afternoon trying but couldn't get it to fit on a Millenium KS-3000 keyboard stand with a boom mic arm. The instructions show it can be attached to the top of the boom, but the ipad for me is tilted to much towards the sky and I can't read it. The plastic ball and socket joint allows 45degrees tilt in all directions and a full 90 degrees if the stand is upright, but unfortunately this wasn't enough flexibility for me. Also,the 90degree position allows too much movement and jiggling. It's plastic so you risk cracking it trying to over tighten it. These parts should have been made of steel for this price. Finally, the packaging is beautiful but contains too much plactic, so not so good for the environment.
