I installed this nut on my Gibson Les Paul Studio from 2007.
For 10 years this guitar has had the usual Gibson G-string and somewhat D-string difficulties with staying in tune.
After one hour of fitting this nut, the G and D tuning problems are GONE!
It took me 45 minutes to remove the old standard (plastic) nut, and sand the Graph Tech nut to an almost perfect fit. These nuts come (on purpose) slightly too long and high, and need to be sanded to fit. I used 400 grain sandpaper taped to a table for this.
After the first fit, the low E-string was 0,2mm too high at the 1st fret, and the high E-string was 0,05mm too high. This took another 10 minutes of sanding to correct. Glued in the new nut with a single small drop of superglue.
If you havn't changed a nut before, have a look at Youtube, to learn how to do this.
I did not notice any change to the tone with this nut, but I didn't expect to, since I don't play many open chords.
I will now move on to install Graph Tech nuts on my Telecaster and Epiphone ES-339.
