If you are after that Jimi Hendrix sound this is what you are looking for. Sound great and play great. Only negativ point is that the high e broke on me after 2 weeks or so but that could just be me.
Taste is subjective, so I suggest you compare Ernie Ball strings with another brand and decide once and for all which will be your favorites. New as old, Ernie Ball strings sing when I play on them, the character and sustain of the strings change with time which suits me perfectly, variation is key to any lasting relationship ;) My style ranges from indie pop to punk and post/punk which could be a factor influencing my choice of strings.
These are a bit thin sounding for me, compared to 10-46. They are less long lasting than the 10-46 as well. But this thing is more like a matter of taste & feel. I use Fast Fret after I play and I notice a longer life. Either way, I prefer them to other brands.
