Very good instrument with very bad qc issues
I have ordered this instrument, but had to return it in the end, because of big QC issue. Otherwise:
Tuners: they are surprisingly good. Smoothly turning, feel nice. Not Gotoh nice, but they are very usable, and are there 8/10 of the way.
Headstock: trussrod cover screw hole drilled not very straight. Trussrod operation ok.
Nut: slots were cut little bit shallow, but not at in issue - guitar was usable, and you can always cut the slots little bit deeper. This is to be expected with guitar in this price range.
Frets: nice finish of the fret ends, no tool marks, they were even little bit shiny and not completely dull. No dead spots on the fretboard, therefore no leveling needed.
Fretboard and binding: fretboard dry, but otherwise had nice brown-redish lighter color - i like it much more than dark ebony/ebanol/etc. fretboards. Binding and craftsmanship acceptable.
Body fit and finish: finish was extremely nice, colorful, no issues with the clearcoat, nicely polished body. At the back of the guitar, the plastic tremolo cavity cover screw holes were drilled several times at some places, because they missed spot. Cannot be seen with cover on, no big deal.
Wilkinson tremolo: 6 holes for the tremolo pivot screws were drilled SLANTED and AT AN ANGLE - cca. 80 degrees towards the bridge pickup (should have been 90 deg - perpendicular to body). Some screws were more slanted than the others. This results in a situation where not even God himself can adjust the tremolo to stay in tune, because if you have 6 pivot points, all and one of them is not good, the tremolo would be binding and getting stuck/not return to zero position, and only remedy is to plug the holes, and redrill. Which noone is obviously going to do on a new guitar, because this should have been done in a factory properly, and is really far cry from the 'setup' that you should or expect to be done upon buying the instrument. This straight away makes guitar unusable without major surgery. I have shitty 30 euro stratocaster with 6 point vintage trem, and that one has screw holes aligned properly and straight. So, really..
Pickups: are great and I like them very much, but that is matter of taste.
All in all, this is very nice, beautifully playing guitar, but you better be lucky that the worker in indonesia wore his glasses that day so the holes are drilled straight, and that the thomann QC people (if any) did not close their eyes when inspecting the guitar to be shipped and sold.
