Replaced JBL Control 28 woofer perfectly
I have 3 JBL Control 28 with dead woofers, so I was looking for a cheap fix. They are used as stage monitors, and I didn't want to spend too much on the fix. So, I wanted to test this Fane Sovereign 8-225 after reading the good reviews on the product page.
I tested it during a live 1h gig, next to another JBL Control 28 (with stock woofer), and heard no tone differences (maybe in a quieter environment, I may hear subtle differences, but as stage monitors, it was doing it's job perfectly)
Pros :
- plug'n'play replacement, except for screws (position doesn't match the JBL ones, but nothing a screwdriver couldn't fix in 30 seconds)
- Sound is pretty good, I could hear my drummer's snare loud and clear ! Maybe a bit too much bass, but it wasn't behind an EQ yet.
Cons:
- none so far (except for the screw positions, if you want to nitpick)

Good for my stage monitor
I've been using this 10" speaker in my 40cm high stage vocal monitor for more than a year and it works perfectly. We play Hendrix songs. I drive it with a 150W power amp from the mixer. A very good bargain for about 50€!

Quality is very good
Price/Performance is excellent , sound is clear. I`m using this speaker in 3-way system , and output is very good. I recommend this speaker to everyone , don`t be afraid of low price , speaker is very good.

Good All round speakers.
I bought two of these to replace the blown drivers in my Yamaha portable PA system we use for foldback- the original yamaha drivers are way overpriced and rare as hen's teeth as the PA is old , very old. The Fane units dropped into place with no fuss. Powered up I noticed a warmer sound that stayed as the power was wound up. Not as bright as the original were (before the cones fell out!), but pleasing and with a nice bottom end too. They may be budget range speakers, but these fellers sound good and can handle the load well. I give them 5 stars , no problem.

Fane Sovereign B-225
This speaker was bought as a replacement for a speaker that was literally cooked by a DJ/Karaoke Presenter who drove it to death. The DJ/Karaoke presenter is still trying to cook this one after a good few tries. Maybe not a JBL sound but it sure is tough. Good all rounder and it has lasted longer than the original. For the price and its use a really good match. No complaints.

not bad
I think these are just Eminence Alpha clones... close in specs and look, now that Eminence owns Fane I guess it's just a copy. Anyway, I used two in a 2x8" bass cab (vented) and it wasn't bad. Not very nice sounding, though... if you want a miracle from an 8" woofer you have to spend some serious money on a Faital PR or something like that. I owned SWR Henry 8x8 and 4x8" so I'm a fan of small speakers but for the Q/P ratio, 10" woofers can be beaten (at least for bass).
They're bright enough, though, so maybe they'd be nice as midrange for 2 ways cabs on top of a good 15".

Replacement 8" drivers
I bought 4 of these to replace the drivers in DAS 8" speakers in a venue I manage
these are a much stronger rating than the DAS 150w and far more robust.
And... they are a fraction of the cost.

Great price and quality
These speakers are monsters! Great sound from them and very loud. They were a bit bigger than I had imagined them but when i turned them on i realized why. The bass is clear and very direct. At this price point if you want versatility you will not find better I am sure.

the fans sovereigh 8 is a great 8 inch driver for mid to high level , they have plenty of power and a nice warm sound at low to mid high level .good value for money .

Good and powerfull
Good driver. Im using him for my diy 3way box. For freq around 300-3000hz. Nice sound!
