Audeze Penrose X

Although the audio of these headphones is great, it is a weak attempt for a wireless version.

The coverage is absolutely terrible, without any obstacles I hear constant "Connected" voice line when I am not even 3m away from the dongle from headphones connecting and disconnecting all the time.

The battery is very weak as well, during first few months, the headphones could be powered on for +- 12 hours with 100% charge, now it is not even 3 hours after 5 months of usage.

When you want to charge your headphones while playing, you can enjoy constant hissing and static noise in our left earcup.

I bought these as an alternative to the SteelSeries Arctic Pro. Mainly I use it for PC connectivity. The quality of the sound is second too none.

The mic is removable. So if you don't need it and just want to listen to music, just remove it. If you need to chat, plug the 3.5mm jack back in. If you want to leave the mic on, you have the ability to mute it on the left earcup.

It can connect wirelessly via the usb dongle, or if your battery is running low connect the USB cable to the left earcup and you can continue utilizing the headset.

The Penrose and the Penrose X are basically the same headsets. The X was designed for Xbox One, Xbox X/S and PC. The normal Penrose is geared more toward the PS4/5, PC and Mac.
Penrose is blue. Penrose X is green.

They are super comfortable. There not 100% sound proof, but they block out a considerable amount of noise.

The one thing negative is the range isn't that great. If I get up from my computer to go into the kitchen(the next room,) It will start to disconnect and reconnect.

After reading all negative comments on reddit about Audeze Penros connection issues and comfort I was skeptical but I decided to give them a chance and I’m definitely NOT disappointed.I using worth 450£ B&O Beoplays Portals for gaming and sound quality on Portals is great but they have lack of Bass.Even when I use EQ to add more Bass on Dolby Atmos app they still sound flat.When I connected B&O to X Box controller by 3.5mm jack sound was much better than wireless with better punchy bass…but AUDEZE PENROSE sounds much louder better with great sound separation and perfect bass and they doing this wireless!!!I don't have any connection problems with AUDEZE.Sound is clear and comfort of wearing is at the same level like on B&O Portals.Thumbs up for Thomann.de for very quick delivery to UK!
