I had bought the big brother of this stand for a smaller tablet. Read the dimensions, K&M really means it. The tablet was only 2 or 3 mm smaller than the spec but it didn't fit. Somehow i didn't see this model until it was too late. So on my next order I bought the smaller one.
Both the stands are plastic clamps on a sturdy, heavy metal base with 4 small rubbery plastic round feet stuck on. The feet grip well, the base doesn't move, and it won't scratch the surface you put it on.
The stands are very stable, the range of adjustment is pretty good, the only thing missing is that you cannot rotate the tablet on the base. The tablet can be rotated up and down, and can be spun 180 degrees (portrait vs. landscape). But they must face you or you have to move the base.
The clamps are plastic and won't damage your tablet. However, one of the screws on one of the clamps spun and I thought it had stripped. It seems to grip now so I guess it's ok.
There's a fine line between holding the tablet firmly enough so it absolutely does not move when you use it, and probably holding the tablet so tightly it breaks. I feel the tablets are held securely without damaging them. There is some very small amount of play but they're pretty good.
I'd like to see steel inserts in the clamp screws so they cannot be stripped. Other than that, I suppose these are better than I've seen.
