Dava test pack
gmj1996 17.06.2017
I bought these picks as I wanted a silver plated plectrum but couldn't find any cheap ones. I discovered Dava by accident and decided to buy this mini 5 pack to test some of them. I was very interested in the Master Control, as this pick has a nickel/silver tip. I'll break my review down by pick:

Master Control (Rock Control Nickel Silver): UNBELIEVABLE. Great tone, feels very nice in the hand. Not slippery at all. The centerlines give an indication for the "feel" of the pick (ie. from soft to hard). Feels very sturdy. It's a shame Thomann doesn't sell them, because I can't get enough of them.

Jazz Grip Delrin/Grip Tip Delrin: Once again, fantastic grip. Not slippery, just as you want your pick to be. Feels very soft and nice to the touch. The combination of the grip and the tip offers some great widely employable techniques. All in all, very good!

Rock Control Delrin (red tip): Same grip as the Nickel Silver Tip pick, great feel, good tones once again, just as comfortable as the nickel/silver tip but a different tone as one would expect.

Dava Control Nylon (blue): These were my least favorite of the bunch. Good grip, the tone was there but not as good as the other ones (personal preference).

If you're curious about Dava and want to try out some of their picks, this is the way to go! This pack is great value for money and you can try out some different combinations for a rather nice price. All in all, I would recommend it!

If you want to try most of their picks, go with this package. I prefer the jazz delrin picks, they are my favorite. Maybe some other pick will be your favorite. Buy, try it out, choose.

Not really my cup of tea

Overall they are interesting. The aim to using one pick for strumming and solo is a good thought, but in the end they are not great for either. I am not saying they are bad, but there are better picks for strumming and better picks for soloing. So it does both on average level. One things that is very good, is that it has a very nice grip.

I am seldom using 2 of them: the yellow, and the small red one(grip tips and jazz grips).

Metal one- this one is made from nickel silver. Sometimes I use this, for fun, as it gives a really chimey sound on an acoustic. I had a metal pick yars ago, but didn't like that it was too rigid and slippery. Well I don't have the problem with this as the grip is great, and felixble. I guess the metal pick is not the most string friendly :)

Red rock control delrin and the blue master control nylon - well tried it once, and never used it since.

A little bit of everything :)

It?s a perfect set for undecided ones and for those who like to have every possible option at their fingertip. All fit very well in hand and came in cheerful colors :) Besides having different tips (that you just have to try out for yourself), they come in different sizes: the JazzGrip is the smallest one, could also be nice for a child; the RubberGrip with rubber finish helps when I play longer and OriginalControl made of soft plastic are my favorite - those two are bit bigger than the JazzGrip; I use them for electric and acoustic ? kind of unlikely choice so glad I've tried them.
The RockControl and MasterControl are profiled to fit better under thumbs but somehow too big for me and also the plastic grip is not that nice.
