My Presonus 68 audio card lasted 5 years and the Focusrite Scarlett 8i6 3rd Gen had a horrible whining noise that I had to sent back.
So I thought I try something from Universal Audio.
I was happily surprised and after 6 month I totally love the unit.
I utilize the VOLT 4's four inputs and outputs in conjunction with my external Lexicon hardware effects unit when working in Studio One.
This configuration, combined with the Studio One Pipeline plugin, enables me to monitor reverb and delay effects during recording without actually recording the effect itself.
It performs exceptionally well, allowing me to apply any desired effect in Studio One after recording something completely unprocessed. This grants me full creative authority, mirroring the capabilities of professional studios.
The headphone amp is good and has sufficient volume to drive my Beyer dynamic DT-770 80ohm listening to everything from classical music to hard rock. If it was any louder my ear would be ringing for days.
The construction is of excellent quality. The pre-amp introduces a distinct improvement to recordings, providing a warm and subtly enriched sound.
The bundled plugins alone justify the cost of entry.
