First let me tell you little about myself, ive been in the pro audio business for about 27 years, so there are alot of brands that have come my way and ive have used many of them in my business as a dj.
I bought the IQ18B for christmas as a present for myself to use at home. Well, this sub blew me away and all my expectations with it. Ive used JBL, RCF, QSC, Mackie, Cerwin Vega, db Technologies and so on, both active and passive versions as well.
As of late, that being said, 10-15 years ive used more and more the active versions as the footprint becomes smaller and smaller and lighter weight.
But the Turbosound IQ18B is far from small, and the sound is controlled and firm. The box i sturdy with all the controlls on the back you could ever wish for and for this price. Well its a nobrainer.
Im a techhead, always has been, i love technology and the electronic side of music, so as you could imagine i ran this sub through its paces, every thing from Depeche, Kraftwerk, Infected mushroom, Deadmau5 to more common EDM that you hear on the radio. I also have an extensive library with OST, original soundtracks in hi def, and the sub performed very well.
The last subs ive owned were from both Yamaha and JBL and i just chucked them away, this is my new goto when it comes to power vis avi price. Im not sure if my livingroom can survive a 2nd brother of this monster, but im thinking about it!
The waiting and delevery was quite taxing im afraid, i was hoping to get it at christmas, but that was a longshoot to say the least. I dont think it was Thomanns fault but rather the service they use to deliver in Sweden. Nor got i any help to carry this up the stairs, mind you its 40+ kgs and its a big box. But i managed the same. ;)
This sub ticks all the boxes in my book.
Shame you cant listen to it before you buy, you would be sold right away!
