OK, I have a BOSE L1 Classic 500W PA with two B1 subs and I used it for about 30 50 persons. Usualy playing bg music/karaoke and add guitarr and voice/song. I was quite pleased with this, but I had some lack of power when playing loud rock-music on some tough parties.
Then my friend sold to me 4 Behrlinger speakers Eurolive 1520 100W/200W and I needed an amp for it. So I contacted Thomann and ask for amp for this speakers. Thomann advice t.amp E-800 and I was little skeptic in the beginning. Mostly because it was the cheapes amp in the class. Anyhow I did purchase one and the idea was to send back if it not works properly.
After first test in my garage I noticed that this amp was working very well with my speakers. I tested 2 pair of speakers and short tests with 4 speakers, not bridged just two in paralel on each side. The sound was clear and better than sound that I had with EV ZLX15p which I had once up on time and got rid of them just because the sound was muffy-dizzy....
So I decided to run BOSE and t.amp/Behligher VP1520 next to each other on low level and high level. They was placed in the garage and the door was open so I could go out and listen the sound.
And OK, the sound was different. The Bose delivered deeper low end and higher high end, And t.amp/ Behrlinger was better in middle. But the punch was better for t.amp/behrlinger (2 speakers) and I decided to have them at next gig. The only negative was during the test of playing different frequency. I used a Soundcheck app with my iphone and found out that the t.amp/behringer VP1520 does not deliver frequencies higher than 12,5 kHz. I do not know how to found out is it the speaker or t.amp not working properly or what was the problem.
The gig was last night an I played from easy listen songs, The place was quite glassy and with stone floor, but sound worked nice and lots of bass. The guests was very pleased and no complain about loudness. I played Balkan folk, rock and I had better sound and no problem with the amp. It was loud and no lack of power and no issues with the amp. I checked the temp which was blow out and it was no much heat there. The amp is quiet in the pub ambient, but some noise is coming from fans but nothing bother me. The sound was kind a disco sound, which I liked because it get people move and feel more the rhythm. and I will keep this combination and use BOSE for small events or i will sell them....So I am surprised positively. Thanks Thomann for help in choosing the right amp for my speakers.
