Although the previous PowerGlides were / are still amazing pedals, these pedals are a huge improvement on their predecessor. Carrying on with the tradition of feeling the power in every stroke, it's so much smoother than the previous range of PowerGlides. This is strongly due to the Cobra Coil spring under the footboard and the new style beaters. Overall there is a lot more power, control and feel. I have been playing Iron Cobras for a long time and these new PowerGlides have helped me to re-establish why I don't want to use anything else.
Had the old model and a pair of pearl eliminators. These are unreal. It did take a few plays to adjust though (different dimensions to previous model) but they’re extremely smooth and inviting. Love the new beaters. Convinced it boosted my low end but could just be imagining. All in all, highly recommended if you have the money. I got 16 years out of my last pair so in the long run it’s a worthy investment. Mainly used for rock, pop and metal.
I've now had this pedal for a few months, and I have only good things to say about it. Feel wise, adjustment wise, quality, setup... Everything. Just the way I expected and wanted! Switched from my 9000.
This pedal packs quality, ease of use, and power all in 1. It's very fluid. One downside is that the cover of the beaters (the black material) lets loose of the beater itself, which leaves a black powder behind.
This is my first double kick pedal and I'm very satisfied with it. I play mostly metal drums and this pedal does the job. Great build quality, great looks, and great overall performance. You can play fast double bass with this pedal, but if you mainly play extreme metal like deathcore where you have insanely fast double bass then I think you should consider buying another double kick pedal.
