This is an interesting device for capturing and/or detecting EMR sounds (inaudible electromagnetic frequencies). What does the EM pulse from a photoflash or the field from the powercable beneath the street sound like? The Ether V2 doesn't have many controls; one for frequency selection, one for volume, and metal connectors for direct contact. It's fairly easy to use, the difficulty rather lies in finding clear recording "angles" in the environment to avoid noise. If you are interested in sampling and want access to record this odd "sound" domain, Soma Ether may be a tool you'll like! And, a simple walk through the city with this device and headphones on might be illuminating; it will let you hear the EM landscape you're walking through that you might not have known existed. A specific tool for a limited domain, true - but interesting if you're into this type of sounds.
