Starting from the aesthetics, this guitar is stunning, the pictures really don't do it justice. The satin purple burst is looks awesome on the swamp ash body and it changes depending on the lighting.
In terms of construction, it is flawless. From the fret ends to the body contours and the binding, everything is absolutely solid. The neck is comfortable. Neither chunky, nor too thin. Beautiful slab or rosewood and inlays.
Apart from the aforementioned build quality, what really took me by surprise is its tuning stability. I've had many other more expensive guitars, teles included, none of them was as stable as this one. After 2 hours of strumming, bends, etc, the guitar is still in tune. Intonation was spot on from the factory.
Compared to the similarly priced Fender Vintera line, the PT special is many notches above, in almost every aspect.
The pickups are kind of atypical. The neck P90 is warm and relatively hot, while the bridge pickup is very trebly. Both very usable sounds for many applications, but if I had to report something slightly negative about this guitar, it would be that it is very hard to dial in a tone setting that works with both pickups. The middle position sounds amazing though, a very nice sound with a hint of Jaguar in it.
In a nutshell, highly recommended. A great guitar regardless of price range
