I bought this to be used with a goose-neck while recording simple vocals.
The mic stand I have, never holds a heavy large diaphragm mic with suspension, the cable, and a pop screen, at the same time in a satisfactory way. There are always sagging and moving mechanical fittings in my fairly new mic stand, which is the second one that I have bought.
With this clamp, I can mount even a heavy large diaphragm microphone with phantom power in front of my desk and computer screen. That makes it very efficient on space and I have all functions within the DAW in the computer accessible at the same time within easy reach. No jumping up and down between a mic over there, and computer access over here.
For me it has been a great solution.
