Great buy.

I spent all summer touring with this buet' and I must say it does it's job very well. It's also very good looking, beautiful white with blue inside. It can defiantly handle being beat up but I had one issue with it. The handle was a little bit loose so I was scared that it was gonna break of all fall but no it just seems to be designed that way. Not the most comfortable handle ever but it does the job and from someone who carried his own case, gig to gig let me just say. Could have been a lot worse, so all in all buy it. Also looks great on the street makes people more interested in taking a peak inside and maybe give some money compared to a more 'boring' all black one.

Lovely- case but a generic size

I got this case for my vintage JE Dallas openback banjo. I love the looks and finish but unlike guitars, Banjos - particualrly older ones come in many different sizes and my banjo is "swimming" a little in this case. It is an 11" open back but i get the impression this case is sized for a resonator banjo so even with the coushin the banjo moves when you pick the case up etc. i'd prefer a more snug fit so buying this "unseen" has resulted in a case that is maybe not as protective as i'd like. I so love the look of this but would have preferred if Gator had provided some size options as other manufacturers do: resonator, 11" pot, 12" pot etc.

Decent case

this case looks awesome and it's all that matters.
I just wanted a hard case for my 1991 Deering Deluxe so i got it. The banjo sits at home never gets out. Quality is so and so, a bit filmsy, if i was to bring my instrument around to gigs here and there i would look somewhere else. Back in the day cases where like this after all. But 4 today's standards it's not the best protection. Locks work perfectly and the plush inside is very good, it's the outer shell that i wouldn't trust too much. But that's just my 2 cents.

I use it for short trips and my Deering Americana open back banjo is absolutely safe in it. Be kind to it and it will bring you satisfaction. Its real beauty but be careful of dirt. It's not made for hobos. It's gentlemen?s case.
