I broke the nut on my fender p bass highway one 2004.
Although not a standard the dimensions were the same.
I sanded the nut down by masking taping a piece of sand paper to the middle of the neck obviously protecting the fret board so as I sanded I kept the curve of the neck on the nut. I just kept sanding in increments using a business card at the first and second fret as a guide, and half hours work and it fitted a treat. Intonation is also much better now. Hardly any glue is needed to fix it,as if it happens again you know you can get it out easily!
