I use D'Addarios on every stringed instrument I own, so when I got my first mandolin - a cheap Harley Benton model - this was my go-to set of strings. These strings really brought it to life!
They last longer than Ernie Balls at the same price point, but not quite as long as some of the more expensive brands. However, at ¤6,30 a set I'm more than happy to change strings more often instead of spending ¤15 on a set of Elixirs.
The only downside is that the tension on the .038 G string is a tiny, tiny bit high on an instrument with a 35 cm scale, but it should balance out perfectly on a 33 cm mandolin. Any longer than 35 and I'd go for the J62 set, which is identical except it has a .034 G string.
